Andrew B. Becker, M.D., Ph.D., Executive Vice President. He has over seven years of experience working with and evaluating the technical products and programs of small start-ups as well as major pharmaceutical firms. Dr. Becker has worked closely with such clients as Pfizer and Glaxo Wellcome to provide very detailed scientific, clinical, market, and financial analyses of business unit portfolios.

Dr. Becker has made numerous strategic recommendations to major pharmaceutical clients in oncology, cardiovascular, and infectious disease areas. He has also been instrumental in leading the stratFOCUS¨ report series and databases, as well as implementing and facilitating Becker Pharmaceutical's Rationalization Grid¨ in-licensing process and software.

He is a member of LES, the American Heart Association, and the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals. Dr. Becker received his bachelor's degree from Swarthmore College and both his medical and graduate degree in molecular pharmacology from Stanford University.



Gerald B. Pevow, East Coast Account Manager (based in Atlanta, GA). He has over ten years of experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries. Prior to joining Becker Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Pevow was manager of business development at Abgenix, a biopharmaceutical company focusing on commercialization of antibody-based therapeutics. During his time at Abgenix, Mr. Pevow was responsible for forecasting revenue, modeling potential commercial partnerships, performing market research for product development, and negotiating product and technology licenses. Prior to Abgenix, he worked in product and market management at CLONTECH Laboratories, a division of Becton Dickinson. Mr. Pevow obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a master's from Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business.



Adam JT Sear, Senior Consultant (based in Austin, TX). He has over ten years experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Mr. Sear began his career in pharmaceutical marketing in 1990 when he joined Syntex Pharmaceuticals, specializing in pharmaceutical marketing development, international and domestic training, and serving as a marketing analyst. His responsibilities included the development of market situation analyses for both in-line and research compounds across several countries, and he assisted with the development of product positioning and new product forecasts. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Sear worked for SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals in marketing research, business development, and product management. Just prior to joining Becker Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Sear worked with Sperling Sampson West, a West Coast biotechnology advertising firm. His role as Account Supervisor entailed working with such clients as Medtronic and CellPro.

Mr. Sear obtained a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of Southern California and a master's of international management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).



Specialty Consultants:

Thomas H. Keller, Jr., Senior Consultant (based in Chicago, IL). He has spent 26 years at Searle, rising from positions in market research to Senior Director of Marketing responsible for cardiovascular, obstetrics/gynecology, and CNS products. In the latter role he oversaw sales exceeding $500 million, accounting for over 80 percent of Searle sales. Mr. Keller has devised promotional programs to boost sales, executed product launches, and negotiated licensing agreements. He has also worked in the areas of pulmonary and anti-infective products. He has had extensive interaction with medical thought leaders. In addition, he has developed numerous sales and marketing forecasts for both new and in-line products. Mr. Keller has a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Maryland and a master's in business from The Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
